Welcome balloon racers! I work for POKE and I was lucky enough to be part of a very talented team that created the Balloon Race Across the Internet. It's been a long and in part difficult road, but I for one am so proud of what we've managed to achieve.
I love the idea of people dropping onto here, so please say hello! If you leave the name of your balloon I'll even give you a boost :)

well all i can say is that 6 or 7 times i've picked up 100 bonus points at the end of a page, then then i come out the other side i still have 0 points. once my balloon even got to the end of a page and instead of picking up the 100 points it reversed, yes reversed! back to the left-hand side of the screen!

I'd be very interested to know why our site was neglected. It still sits in Site Pending. Pretty bad form seeing as some of the sites on this balloon race have included a million brain fried pages and the bloody Sun. pretty annoying really.

Thanks for getting in touch - I'm really sorry to hear your site didn't get included in the race. Organising a race of this scale was certainly a challenge but we really tried to get as many sites into the race as possible - and your site certainly wasn't intentionally excluded. We had a number of automatic tools to monitor and select sites for the map, and all I can suggest is that for whatever reason theothersidemag.co.uk wasn't reachable by our tools at the time the map was built.
I'm really sorry you missed out - I'll try and squeeze you into the map first thing tomorrow morning, please drop me an email to 'nilesh [AT] pokelondon [DOT COM]' so I have someone to contact with an update on how that goes.
